Starting a new tournament.

Starting a new adventure with the kids in Buena Vista, but this time with the ages of 10 to 13, we have 25 kids in this tournament, 5 teams of five all playing each other. for the champions will be having a party where we will have McDonalds for the winners something that they haven't had before.
When we told them they were so exciting and we invited kids from all the village they show up on time the first day and we organized the teams making one kid a captain and gave him a responsibility.
they love to be captains but they don't know how. I had to set so many rules and some time they don't agree with the rules but they love them hahaha. We have to be very strict about the rules and we had to send two kids home.  My wife and I wonder what they think about us...do they hate us for that or what!!!! but next day they came back and ask me if they can play, I told them on next tournament.
I feel they love to play but they don't know how to behave and respect others, we belive that every day God changes their hearts.
Every day we start with a devotional and all the kids must be on time because if they are not they will miss like 3 or 4 minutes on their game. hahah Julio and Elvis came late and ask me why and I told them the rules and they had to sit down and the other team score 2 goals and they were upset, you could see it in their eyes but they told me at the end of the game that they won't miss next time the devotional.
Please help me pray for these kids that God will break down the wall that doesn't let them see how nice and peaceful  is to be in the light.   

Another amaizing story!!

I have to tell you how God is powerful and his promises are real.
I meet another friend through Federico, her name is Ana Luisa and we meet at federico's shop, we talk about what we do and  how crazy is that God let us meet people that he wants to talk about the vision this friend share her testimony and how use her to go and help people with cancer and people that need help and different ways,
I was very exciting to thing that there is more people in Guatemala that want to help, so I told her about Buena Vista and how we are helping people there so she was very exciting to help and offer to come and do movie nights with the kind and have popcorn and different stuff I din;t know if I should get exciting but I knew she was a very special women. So Wednesday she call me and very happy told me that she wants to donate a playground house for the kind and we have to set a date for the movie night  because she really wants to do it so we have a date for that and we have a house for the kinds HOW Crazy is that amigo but only God can do such a thing, so let me tell you how we can help this friend she has a metal furniture and she hasn't sell anything and 2 mounts. So please help me pray for her business that God will provide!! thanks to let me share with you.

Something amainzing happend yesterday

We had to take our car to the mechanical, I know this guy from a long time ago and it was crazy how we got connected!!!. but I talk to him about what we're doing in Buena Vista and how is God doing great thing in this village and he was so excited.  Later this same day he called me and told me that he wanted me to go and see his house witch has never happened before and I told my wife "let's go", so we went and he had a big bottle full of coins and bills and he said "I would like to donate this to the kids in the ministry and I know God will do great things with you too", I was surprised of how God connects people and it was amazing.  We counted the money when we got home total Q 999.75 I couldn't believe it. Thank God!!!.

I told him we were going to be praying for his shop to have more clients and he call me this afternoon laughing and saying: "I don't know what kind of praying you did but I've been getting cars all morning, it it amazing!"  and I was wowed how God works! it's crazy! I love it!
So pray for our friend Federico Macdonal so God would bring more work to is shop. 

Another Day in Buena Vista

Want to share some of what God is doing in Buena Vista. Today I was able to see the contraction BVSA and looks like avery day we are getting closer!!!
I was on the street all this morning and some time it's very sad and lonely.  I was able to hang out with one of the kid on the street his name is Over great kid I was able to teach him how to pass and to catch great time, this reminded me how when I was a kid I never had this opportunity so I thing this kids are going to be very blessed. And then one of the middle schoolers came bye to talk to me, I was able to share my testimony  and he was telling me that he will be willing to do anything for me to teach him how to be a better player, person and some day he will know the Lord.  It was a great morning.
And the afternoon I came back to BV after lunch thinking of having another great time but some time the kids in Buena Vista are not having a good day because they don't respond the same way they do every day so when that happens I like to give then some space.
Please help me pray to have a strong way to get their attention and turn this bad time into a good time for all of us.

The game is On!

In February we started a soccer tournament with the middle school boys and girls from the local BV school, it is a new thing for them and something they have never done... there are 4 boy teams and 4 girl teams, each with 5 to 7 players.  We did it mainly to get to know the kids and spend some time with them because in the mornings they work before going to school in the afternoons, but has been bigger blessing!!! we have seen a lot of “raw talent” in them and just how enthusiastic and sweet some of them are... It just makes us hope and pray that they stay in school and get to know all this other activities so they may get a better chance in life.

We know the process of selecting the boys for the BV Academy is not going to be easy.

New mercies every day!

Oh man... having spent some time with the Men was an amazing time for me. I was able to meet people with amazing hearts and just to see how Gods works in and through them was and unforgettable experience, and now I know that I have friends and brothers that support me in many ways... and that together we seek the same goal: to work with sports and see the lives of this generation of kids in Buena Vista change to God. 

I am so proud of these boys! People is already able to note some good changes in their attitude and a fair game inside the field. 

I am so thankful! with God for this opportunity of being part of this ministry.

What makes a difference

Just the other day Brock and I were trying to get some paperwork done in the city, and it is hard to realize that people in the system want to take advantage of others besides really helping...  I pray to God that this can change in the BV boys, that this can be a generation of change and honesty and of service to their own people and community, and a generation that glorifies Him.

I tell the kids each day and the families that we visit that we want to be their friends and support them in prayer.  We want to spend quality time with them to get to know not only their needs but also their strengths and motivate them...
Some are responding and opening their hearts and homes to us :)

In the beginning

I bring a sports devotional with printed testimonies and photos of some of Guatemala's best soccer players, so we gather around and read a little each day.

It is nice because they know this soccer players so they can relate to them and we talk about their stories and the way they behave on the field and that has made somewhat of an impact in those kids!  We have been able to talk about the importance of behaving well while playing soccer, and that is is important to be a good example to our team players as well as the people watching us.
